'No Govt In Nigeria' - Ortom Reacts To Kidnap Threat On Buhari

The controversial Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has finally reacted to the terrorists’ threat which had been made against the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Ortom had also reiterated openly that some of these threats that had been issued by the bandits to kidnap Buhari was an indication that there is no government in Nigeria. He had also lamented that bandits and Fulanis in Afghanistan are the ones abducting Nigerians.

It had been reported that over the weekend, a video emerged online of bandits threatening to kidnap Buhari and the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

Ortom, reacting to the video in a chat with journalists in Makurdi stressed that “things are getting worse in Nigeria.”

He said, “You know I said this before I travelled that very soon, with the manner in which the bandits are operating without proactive steps from the federal government, they will soon enter Aso Rock.

“You have seen happenings in the country, the Kuje prison break and the threat to kidnap the president, God forbid but this is what I saw a long time ago.

“Those people in Afghanistan who are bandits and Fulani are the ones. They are being sponsored. I feel pained that this is happening in my generation. There is no government in Nigeria today. Those who are surrounding the president are criminals.”

In another report, Samuel Ortom  has also come out to reveal that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has finally agreed to his advice which was pertaining tp his disagreement with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and the conflict

Governor Ortom had openly berated Atiku Abubakar for failing to pick Wike as his 2023 presidential running mate despite a recommendation by the party’s committee. The Governor had also faulted the former Vice President for failing to reach out to Wike and some of other aggrieved members of the party after picking Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

However, Atiku had last week faulted Ortom for saying that the PDP committee recommended Wike as the party’s vice-presidential candidate.

He insisted that the committee set up at his instance recommended three names: Wike, Okowa and Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and he settled for Okowa, who he claimed could deliver. Fielding questions from newsmen at the Benue State Government House, Makurdi, on Monday, Ortom said he did not want to be dragged into a face-off with Atiku anymore, adding that he doesn’t want to contradict his presidential candidate.
