Foremost rights activist and human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has come out again to openly reiterate his earlier demands that all government officials be treated in Nigeria instead of flying abroad for treatment.
Falana had also reiterated this statement at the first anniversary of the late Mohammed Fawehinmi Lecture in Lagos.
Falana had quipped i that the country needed a law barring all public office holders from going overseas for medical care.

“Anybody who holds public office must be treated in Nigeria for any health challenge.
“Public office holders must die here. Enough of health tourism”, NAN quoted him saying.
The lawyer hailed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for undergoing knee surgery at a hospital in Lagos. On the 2023 elections, Falana charged citizens to question presidential flagbearers on the nation’s problems.
He said the candidates should be asked to provide their solutions regarding the health and education sectors, insecurity, economy, among others.
“I don’t care which party you belong to; what is important is that people should ask questions and reject the high living conditions”, Falana added.
In another report, Femi Falana, has lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has brought depression and hardship calling on the President to resign in the face of growing terror in the land.
Falana made this call while speaking at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) protest in Lagos on Tuesday.
He pointed out Buhari’s remarks that he is eager to leave office as one of the motivations behind his call.
‘The living standards of our people are getting worse by the day. We didn’t vote for a regime to cause hardship in Nigeria and that is what is going on,” Falana said.
‘As we are gathered here today, terrorism has taken over our country. Hardship has taken over our country. Depression has taken over our country.
