It took people by surprise in the late hours of Sunday when Chris Finebone who was the spokesperson of All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Publicity Secretary, finally tendered a letter which was to inform of his immediate resignation from the party about three days after it had been rumoured that he had defected to the People Democratic Party, PDP.
Indications that the APC Chieftain may have already dumped his party in the State had emerged last Friday when he had been seen in a viral photo photo with Governor Nyesom Wike, the Rivers governorship candidate of the PDP, Siminalayi Fubara.

Dr. Davies Ikanya who is the former Chairman of APC in the State who defected PDP who was also in the picture also had posted: ” This is what it is.Life is full of surprises.”
Finebone was also one of the dignitaries who graced the Commissioning of Rivers State Assembly Quarters by the Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbagabiamila last Friday.
But he confirmed that he is leaving APC In terse resignation letter dated August 12 ,2022 was addressed to his the Chairman his Ward 6, Opobo-Nkoro local government area, attention Senibo Raymond Finebone as it was gathered on Sunda.
He refused to give reasons for dumping the party.”I am not one to go public with the reasons for my resigning from APC, just as I did not give anyone reasons for joining the party. However,all I can say is encapsulated in the words of a 17th century poet and dramatist, John Dryden.

But APC through its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, had stated yesterday that it got the hint of Finebone leaving the party about two months ago. He said this was because the former APC spokesperson did not want to shoulder the moral burden of leading an onslaught against Fubara his kinsman who is the PDP governorship candidate. Finebone has no doubt left another big hole in Political structure of APC.
Less than two days before he left, APC, he had as always, taken Wike to the cleaners, slamming the Governor for dancing “Kokomo” in viral video at the time scores of children were dying of an outbreak of Measles in Communities in Abua-Odua local government area of the State.
