NYSC Gives Update On Inferno At Abuja Headquarters

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Today News, New York has revealed that the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has revealed that it has curtailed the sudden fire outbreak which had started at its Directorate Headquarters.

The Scheme, in a recent statement which had been put out by Eddy Megwa, Director, Press and Public Relations, said the fire was put off by the FCT and Federal Fire Service Departments.

“The fire incident which started about 7:30am on Friday 4th November 2022 was limited to the 3rd floor of the six-storey building edifice which is occupied by Planning Research and Statistics as well as the General Service Department affected only a particular room with electronic gadgets,” the statement said.

“Fortunately enough, no life was lost and all vital documents were promptly evacuated and safeguarded.”

The Scheme said it heartily appreciates the Federal and FCT Fire Service Departments for their prompt response which minimized the effect of the fire incident.

It also “appreciates all security agencies for the invaluable roles they played during the unfortunate incident.”

In another report, in lieu of the recent video making waves about the organisation endorsing Presidential candidates, the management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has revealed that its attention has actually been drawn to a campaign poster which has been making the rounds on social media that had shown some ladies in NYSC uniform who have been purported to be Corps members endorsing one of the political parties in the country.

In a statement which had been signed by Eddy Megwa, Director, Press and Public Relations of the Scheme, it also revealed that the message encapsulated in the poster is antithetical to its policy which forbids all Corps members from showing partisan interest in politics.
