Arsenal’s latest signing, Jorginho, has offered his major reason for putting pen to paper for the Gunners on the January transfer deadline (Tuesday).
Africa Today News, New York reports that League leaders, Arsenal had on Tuesday night announced the signing of Jorginho from Chelsea just before the transfer window slammed shut.
In the meantime, Jorginho is expected to boost Arsenal’s options in midfield going into the second half of the season which will determine if they will win their first title in almost two decades.
Speaking at his first press conference after signing for Arsenal, Jorginho said he joined Mikel Arteta’s side because the North London outfit is an amazing club.

The Italy international said, ‘I am very excited for this new challenge, and I just can’t wait to be on the pitch to be honest! Everything has happened so fast. I was a bit surprised, but I took the opportunity of this amazing challenge.
‘It is an important shirt. It is an amazing club, a big one, and I’m really excited and happy to be here.’
He will wear the no. 20 shirt for Arsenal.
On Arteta trying to sign him, the Italian said: ‘I know he tried a few times before and it didn’t happen because of other reasons, not because of my wishes.’
Africa Today News, New York can confirm that Jorginho is now in contention to make his debut for Arsenal when they travel to Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Recall that Manchester City drew first blood against last weekend as Arsenal as Nathan Ake’s strike earned Pep Guardiola’s men a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win.
The Dutch defender was the unlikely match-winner with a composed finish to inflict a first defeat on Premier League leaders Arsenal since November.
