Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on Monday, admitted that the performance of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has shown that ballots certainly existed on social media, especially Twitter.
Sirika pointed out that Obi wouldn’t have displayed a performance as he did during Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections if Twitter was not so important for electioneering.
The minister stated this in a tweet via his Twitter account.
‘I think it is wrong to say that there are no ballot boxes on Twitter. There are indeed, huge ones for that matter.
‘If there isn’t any, Obi wouldn’t come this far. Social media is the greatest influencer of opinions after good works. Good work plus social media means victory,’ he said.

Africa Today News, New York reports that other top contenders for the Presidential election are APC’s Bola Tinubu, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, and NNPP’s Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
In another report, former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu to save the country from impending danger by correcting the errors in the recent elections.
Obasanjo’s request was contained in a statement he personally signed on Monday which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York.
Recall that Nigeria held the presidential and National Assembly polls last Saturday where over 80 million Nigerians cast their votes. Two days after what many described as historic presidential and National Assembly polls, results are now pouring in from several parts of the country.
‘Let me appeal to the Chairman of INEC, if his hands are clean, to save Nigeria from the looming danger and disaster which is just waiting to happen,’ Obasanjo stated.
The 85-year-old statesman also appealed to the citizen to exercise patience expressing confidence in the system working right.
