Disturbing news emerging from Ondo State on Sunday, has it that a trailer accident on Akure-Owo expressway has claimed the life of a mother and her 7-year-old son.
As gathered by Africa Today News, New York, the mother, who was in her forties, and her 7-year-old son met their tragic end on Sunday as they were coming back from Church.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ondo Sector Command, the accident occurred in close proximity to the Federal Government Girls College in Akure metropolis.
Mr. Ezekiel Son’Allah, the state Sector Commander, cited over speeding as the cause of the accident, leading to the driver’s loss of control.
Son’Allah, said that ‘Two persons, a male and a female, lost their lives and one person sustained injury in the accident. The identities of the victims are yet to be identified.’

According to an eyewitness account, the unmarked trailer collided with the victims on a motorcycle, resulting in their instant death at the scene.
The collision leading to the accident was initiated by the trailer, identified as a Mercedes Benz model, coliding with the motorbike.
According to available information, one person is reported to have sustained injuries in the incident.
