The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last general elections in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi has bemoaned the current hardship, inflation and insecurity bedeviling Nigerians.
He pointed out that Nigerians deserve better governance that what they were currently getting.
The former governor of Anambra State made this assertion in Lagos when the national chairman of LP, Comrade Julius Abure, inaugurated the party’s caretaker committee for the 20 local government areas in Lagos State yesterday.
According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had compromised the country’s security apparatus and mismanaged economy.
Obi said the President Bola Tinubu administration had done very little to ameliorate the sufferings of the Nigerian masses.
‘Nigerians deserve better than what they are currently getting from the government. Their lots have not been well catered for by the current government but I say hope is on the way.’

The chairman decried the current economic hardship resulting from the fuel subsidy removal and the spate of killings in some parts of the country, especially Plateau.
He said the LP’s participation in the 2023 general election has changed the political landscape in Nigeria.
Recall that a fortnight ago, Obi had expressed deep regret over the imminent departure of British pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from Nigeria, ending their 51-year presence in the country.
Peter Obi, highlighted that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) made known their plans to discontinue prescription medicines and vaccine production in Nigeria, which subsequently led to their decision to leave the country.
