Obaseki To Launch Emergency Communication Centres In Edo

The Edo State government announced on Friday its initiative to set up emergency communication centres in various localities throughout the state.

As stated on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) X handle, Governor Godwin Obaseki has affirmed his commitment to guaranteeing the security of both lives and assets for all Edo state natives.

It was disclosed by the PDP that Hon. Kingsley Uwagbale, the Commissioner of Public Security and Safety, shared this information during a meeting held in his office.

Uwagbale shared this information during a press briefing that centred on the recent signing of an MOU between the National Communication Commission (NCC) in Abuja and the Edo Government. The primary objective of the MOU is to introduce advanced emergency response mechanisms into the state’s safety and security architecture.

Acting on behalf of Governor Obaseki at the Commission, Hon. Uwagbale stressed the importance of the event, emphasizing its connection to the current administration’s vision of making Edo state the ultimate destination for living and flourishing by 2050.

‘The Commissioner noted that the security of lives and property of Every Edo citizen is of utmost priority to the present administration,’ the statement partly reads.

The MOU signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, representing the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, as well as a delegation from the Edo State Government.

Uwagbale pointed out that the security structure was conceived to be a model for every state in the country, encouraging other states to follow Edo’s lead.

Obaseki had previously inaugurated the Ministry of Public Security and Safety as a testament to his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing security, stability, and long-term economic development within the state.

The goal is to transform Edo into Nigeria’s most tranquil and attractive destination for investments.
