Tragedy struck in Alexandria, Egypt, on Sunday when two Israeli tourists and their Egyptian guide were killed in a shooting incident.
This disclosure comes directly from the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which has additionally informed that another Israeli citizen was harmed in the attack.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has stated that the attack was perpetrated by a local, and there is currently no official confirmation from Egyptian authorities.
On a different note, Extra News TV, a private television channel, has alleged that a police officer discharged their weapon at a group of tourists who were at the renowned Pompey’s Pillar, according to the BBC.
The report, citing a security source, indicates that the perpetrator fired “randomly” with his own firearm and was taken into custody at the scene.
Social media posts featured footage that showcased the aftermath of the incident, with at least two individuals seen seemingly lifeless on the ground at an archaeological site.

In a joint effort with Egyptian authorities, the Israeli Foreign Ministry is dedicated to facilitating the speedy return of Israeli citizens to Israel.
The shooting happened a day after the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel, sending hundreds of gunmen across the frontier from Gaza and launching thousands of rockets.
At least 350 people are reported to have been killed in Israel, while another 313 people in Gaza have been killed in retaliatory Israeli air strikes.
Egypt was the first Arab country to make peace with Israel in 1979, but Israeli policies towards the Palestinians make it unpopular with many Egyptians.
