Hon Amobi Ogah who is the member representing Isiukwuato/Umunnochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, has declared that the passage of the recent South East Development Commission (SEDC) Bill by the House of Representatives will transform the southeast when signed into law.
He made this assertion yesterday at his country home in Uturu, Abia State.
He explained that when it comes into effect, the South East Development Commission would bring unprecedented development to the region and also address the cries about marginalization of the region.
He praised the leadership and members of the National Assembly for passing the Bill even as he said that the members of the House from the southeast have formed a united front for the region’s development.
On the Supreme Court judgement rejecting Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom prayers, Ogah said chances were very high that he would soon be released by the Federal Government.

“A case in the Court is what we cannot talk much. We are still pushing. It will only take time, Nnamdi Kanu will be released”, he said.
He said the insecurity in the region is also cause for worry. He, however, expressed joy that situation had been under control courtesy of his collaborative efforts with the state government.
He lamented that he spent N500 million in paying his lawyers in the suits challenging his electoral victory, saying such huge funds should have been channeled to the empowerment of his constituents if his opponents accepted defeat.
He assured his constituents that he would not use his position to intimidate them as allegedly done in the past, saying more employment opportunities would be created for them.
