Nigeria’s oil infrastructure has received a significant boost, thanks to the commendable efforts of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
The Arewa Renaissance Congress, a prominent northern coalition, has praised the company’s dedication to safeguarding oil pipelines and combating theft in the Niger Delta region.
According to the Arewa Renaissance Congress, Nigeria’s oil production was staring into the abyss, with a potential decline to a mere 500,000 barrels per day. But for the timely intervention of private security firms like Tantita, this disaster was averted, ensuring the nation’s energy sector remained stable.
A collaborative approach has borne fruit in the Niger Delta, where private security companies and state agencies, including Nigerian security operatives, have joined forces to ensure stability and boost oil production. This united effort has led to a notable decrease in oil theft, ushering in a new era of peace and productivity in the region.
A bombshell discovery by the NNPC Limited has shed light on the alarming extent of oil theft in Nigeria, with a clandestine connection uncovered after nine years of operation. This illegal tap had been siphoning off a massive 600,000 barrels daily, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect the nation’s energy resources.
Nigeria, a key member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), faces a staggering loss of 2.3 million barrels of crude oil every month, translating to a whopping $1 billion revenue shortfall each quarter. This alarming trend underscores the urgent need for the country to tackle its oil sector challenges.
Abdulrazak, head of the Arewa Renaissance Congress, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government to demonstrate zero tolerance for oil theft and bunkering, advocating for the prompt prosecution of those engaged in these illicit activities.

The coalition also urged the government to provide more support to private security firms like Tantita, as their efforts are crucial in improving Nigeria’s oil production.
“Without the efforts of these private security firms, the country would be producing less than 500,000 barrels per day. They understand the swampy terrain of the Niger Delta very well, and more collaboration between them and Nigerian security agencies will help boost oil production in the country,” Abdulrazak stated.
As oil theft continues to strangle Nigeria’s economy, the Arewa Renaissance Congress has issued a clarion call for government action, praising Tantita’s efforts in the fight against this entrenched menace that has long plagued the nation’s oil industry.
