Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has repaid nearly half his €75m ($87 m) fee, driving Galatasaray’s success on and off the pitch through goals and merchandise.
Galatasaray’s record signing Victor Osimhen is proving a golden investment, with the Nigerian striker already generating €31 million ($36 million) in combined revenue for the Istanbul club through his performances and commercial impact.
The 26-year-old, who joined from Napoli in a €75 million ($87 million) deal, has become both a financial and sporting phenomenon in Turkey. According to Turkish outlet Sportx, Osimhen’s contributions in the domestic league and the UEFA Champions League have been pivotal to Galatasaray’s strong start to the season.
His goals on Europe’s grand stage alone have earned the club roughly €23 million ($26.7 million) in prize money. Galatasaray reportedly collected €18.8 million ($21.8 million) from their Champions League exploits and an additional €4.2 million ($4.8 million) from victories over Liverpool and Bodø/Glimt — matches in which Osimhen found the net.
“Despite those who said Osimhen cannot be given this much money, the Nigerian star has already put almost a third of his record fee back in the safe,” Sportx wrote, describing the forward as “highly profitable for the club.”

Off the pitch, Osimhen’s popularity has sparked a merchandising boom. A special Osimhen-themed collection — including his signature protective mask — sold 40,000 units through Galatasaray’s GS Stores following a campaign led by club president Dursun Özbek. The collection generated 400 million Turkish lira (around $9.5 million), pushing Osimhen’s total financial impact to about €31 million ($36 million).
On the field, Osimhen’s performances continue to dazzle. His brace in last week’s 3-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt extended his scoring streak in European competitions to seven consecutive matches — a club record that surpassed Burak Yılmaz’s six-match run. His early strike in the same match also became Galatasaray’s fastest goal in Champions League history.
With 42 goals in 49 appearances, Osimhen has already climbed above club legends Xhevat Prekazi and Shabani Nonda on Galatasaray’s all-time scorers list.
President Dursun Özbek has dismissed growing transfer speculation, affirming that Osimhen “is not for sale” and will “serve Galatasaray for many years.” Vice-president Abdullah Kavukçu echoed that sentiment, saying, “There are players worth €140 million ($162.7 million) in the world, but Osimhen is more talked about. We’re so happy he’s with us.”
