Controversial Islamic cleric and bandit negotiator, Ahmed Gumi while reacting to APC Presidential candidate’s choice of a Muslim Muslim ticket has revealed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s choice of running mate has nothing to do with religion.

Many APC party members have also continued to resign their membership of the party since the announcement was made on Sunday. However, some party members have argued that there is nothing wrong with the decision, stressing that the only way the party can emerge victorious in 2023 is to have a Muslim vice presidential candidate.
Similarly, Gumi, in an exclusive chat with Newsmen on Tuesday, said the Muslim-Muslim ticket was just a strategy to win the election.
According to him, the electorates, particularly the aggrieved ones, have the right to vote for their preferred candidate.
He said, “It has nothing to do with religion. It’s pure vote-getting strategy and nothing more. It now depends on the voter to choose from a wide range of choices”.
In another report, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah has reacted to the decision by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to present a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
According to him, the decision was teamwork-based on the calculation of what would work for the party.
In a statement he personally signed on Monday which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York Kuka pointed out that the decision by the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu to pick Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate should not be a thing to worry about.
Recall that Asiwaju on Sunday, announced the former Borno State Governor as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
The development has continued to generate reactions from concerned Nigerians who argued that a Christian Northerner should have been picked in place of Shettima.
