Following the endorsement of Atiku/Obi candidacy by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, the Igbo apex socio-cultural group, Governor Willie Obiano, of Anambra state has expressed his disappointment over the support by calling the President General, Chief John Nnia Nwodo an idiot.
Obiano who had thought earlier that Ohaneze would throw their weight behind him, and endorse President Mohammadu Buhari’s bid for re-election in the forth coming 2019 presidential elections felt terrible wounded on the inside as regards Ohaneze’s decision.
But one would expect that this shouldn’t have come as a surprise to Obiano considering the fact that Ohaneze hasn’t been getting along with the leadership style of President Mohammadu Buhari.
Nwodo said, “Your excellency, Gov Obiano, I was surprised to receive a call from you a few minutes ago in which you said the following words ‘Nnia, I didn’t know that you were so idiotic.’
“I am shocked that you can be so insolent.
“I am sure that I was not so idiotic when I addressed your State Assembly asking Ndi Anambra to disregard the IPOB boycott of your election nor was I idiotic when I pleaded with the Commander in Chief to restore your security details.
History will judge who amongst us is idiotic. If standing with the popular wish of Ndigbo makes me idiotic I am happy to be called an idiot.
