Manchester United Suspend Ighalo’s Transfer Talk

Manchester United have had second thoughts over the permanent signing of Odion Ighalo and will wait to find out about the Premier League’s future before making a decision.

Ighalo has scored four goals in eight games since joining on loan from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenua in January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was expected to turn Igahlo’s temporary deal into a permanent one this summer as he overhauls his squad.

But the uncertainty surrounding the future of the current Premier League season has forced United to put the brakes on a permanent move for Ighalo.

The Daily Mail reports that the coronavirus crisis, which has wreaked havoc all over the globe, has led Manchester United  to delay their decision.

United, claimed they want to know when the Premier League campaign will resume before making a decision on Ighalo, who has racked up wages of £130,000 a week during the two months of lockdown.
And the return of Marcus Rashford has also given United a boost, as the striker’s injury was one of the reasons United were forced to bring in Ighalo in January.

Therefore, the club will assess Rashford and Paul Pogba, who has also been out injured, before making a concrete decision.
