Russia has broken its grim coronavirus record with confirmed 11,231 new cases.
It was the highest one day figure till date.
And it brings the country’s official number of cases to 177,160, making it the fourth worst-hit in Europe.
Russia now has the world’s second-fastest rate of new infections behind the United States.
It is the fifth most-affected country in the world, in terms of infections, now surpassing Germany and France.
Eighty-eight people died over the past 24 hours, bringing the total toll to 1,625, Moscow Times reported.
