More People Have Been Killed In Kaduna Than Yemen –Shehu Sani

Former senator representing Kaduna Central and socio-political activist, Shehu Sani have lamented the high level of killings by bandits in Kaduna State which has risen in recent times comparing it what is obtainable in war torn countries like Libya and Yemen.

Speaking on Thursday, the former Senator asserted that bandits have killed about 1,192 people last year across the state.

Sani claimed that those killed in the State had outnumbered those killed and kidnapped in Yemen and Libya.

In a tweet which was sighted by Africa Today News, New York, the former Senator wrote: ‘That bandits killed 1,192 and kidnapped over three thousand in Kaduna last year alone, outpaced the number of people killed and abducted in Yemen and Libya.

‘If this is the state the president wants to retire and settle, he must secure it first.’

Kaduna is one of the states that have experienced a high level of banditry activities.

Religious leaders, students, commuters have been abducted and killed by bandits in Kaduna, despite the heavy presence of security structures.

Meanwhile, no fewer than seven people were confirmed dead following separate attacks by gunmen suspected to be bandits on villages in three local government areas of Kaduna State yesterday.

Africa Today News, New York reports that the affected local governments are Igabi, Chikun and Zango Kataf.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the incident to reporters via a statement, narrated that about four people were killed, and one injured during an attack by gunmen in Kerawa village of Igabi Local Government.
