NWFL Super Six: Edo Queens Receives Boost Ahead Of Tournament

The confidence of Edo Queens to win the Super Six tournament of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) got a boost with the promise by the State Government to provide the team with the necessary support.

The promise was made on Monday evening by the State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu at the team’s training ground in Benin.

He assured Edo Queens of adequate support, beginning from preparation and throughout the duration of the tournament to enable them succeed.

He said the tournament which takes place later in the year, is a must win for the team.

“We will do all that is necessary for you to be at your best. All we need from you is for you to remain focused and dedicated

“Be disciplined and encourage cooperation among yourselves to display the spirit of team play.

“The only way you can reciprocate government encouragement for you and the resources being committed to preparing you is for you to do the right thing and be mentally and physically prepared at all times to be about to finish the season well,” he said.

He disclosed that he has directed the team’s management to begin implementation of players’ rating and that remuneration will now be based on performance and discipline on and off the field.
