Gunmen Kill Lecturer, Abduct Two Of His Daughters

Some yet-to-be-identified Gunmen have murdered a lecturer, a Zakari Kigbu who had before his demise worked with the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia in Nasarawa State.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that the gunmen also made away with two of his daughters during the attack.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Rahman Nansel confirmed the incident to reporters on Sunday.

He said; ‘We got a distress call at about 12:20 am about the attack and reacted swiftly by mobilising our patrol teams and the military to the scene’.

‘Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim had been shot in his abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital and confirmed dead while his two daughters were abducted to an unknown destination.’

Nansel added that ‘The command has commenced an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators of the dastardly act.’

The commissioner of Police has since visited the scene, condoled with the bereaved, and assured the family of the victim that a comprehensive investigation will be carried out and no stone will be left unturned in order to rescue the abducted victims.

Meanwhile, there was huge pandemonium in an area in Kogi State on Saturday as one of the board members of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), Alhaji Isah Ozi Salami, was brazenly kidnapped in his country home in Ogaminana Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State after a gun battle with the kidnappers which saw to the death of three other individuals.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that Salami was kidnapped on his to way the mosque.

A source told reporters that the kidnappers came with a vehicle parked close to the victim’s residence and zoomed off with the old man at about 5 am.

An eyewitness, Ilyas Okaraga, disclosed that another person was also shot by the gunmen.

A family member of the victim said in an attempt to save him from the gunmen, a young man was also shot but was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
