11 Kaduna-Abuja Train Victims Regain Freedom From Abductors

No fewer than five male and six female abducted Kaduna-Abuja train victims have been freed by Terrorists after long weeks of negotiations.

Africa Today News, New York recalls that terrorists had on March 28, 2022, abducted Kaduna-Abuja train passengers, after killing nine passengers, and wounding others.

Eleven of those victims were released on Saturday evening, after reaching the Federal Government and the terrorists reached an agreement.

The terrorists had threatened to start killing the victims if the Federal Government refuses to negotiate with them.

The Publisher of Desert Herald, Tukur Mamu, who served as a mediator, confirmed the development.

He said his sources confided in him that the terrorists released the male captives on health grounds, adding that the women were among the vulnerable in captivity.

“It was expected initially that all the abducted women will be released in the first batch while negotiations for the release of the remaining victims will continue but the abductors had cut down the number of women they initially agreed to release because the Nigerian Government had demanded that they include those with life-threatening injuries among the released,” he said

At the time of filing this report, the names of the released victims had not been confirmed.

Just a few weeks ago, family members of the Kaduna train attack had cried out to the general members of the public over threats by the terrorists to kill the victims if the Federal Government fails to yield to their demands after seven days.

The devastated relatives of the abductees disclosed that the terrorists have spoken to them directly, and are demanding the release of their eight children being held by the Federal Government in Adamawa State before they will release the 61 abducted train passengers.

They, however, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to order for the eight immediate release of the children to the terrorists so as to secure the release of their loved ones who have been in captivity for 59 days.

They also said that the bandits released videos of the victims in their custody to prove to them that they are still alive.
