2023 Tinubu, Adeboye Holds Meeting Over Muslim-Muslim Ticket

As the Muslim-Muslim presidential preference of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) continues to generate reactions, the Presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu on Monday night held a meeting with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye to discuss ways of dousing tension.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that Tinubu had on Monday set up a team of eminent persons with whom he was scheduled to meet the Christian leaders within the party and faith-based organisations such as the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Catholic, to appeal to them and secure their support ahead of the elections.

A source in the Tinubu Campaign team, who spoke to reporters on the condition of anonymity revealed that the plan which was going to be a holistic approach to the brewing crisis was to make the Christian community see the reasons behind the Muslim-Muslim ticket, adding that Tinubu himself has decided to lead a team that will appeal to the Christian community.

A reliable source, who also pleaded anonymity, told our correspondents that the meeting with  Adeboye was very fruitful, adding that the popular clergy was not entirely against a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Though Africa Today News, New York could not immediately confirm those on Tinubu’s entourage to the meeting with Adeboye, it was reliably gathered that the wife of the presidential hopeful, Senator Oluremi, was there.

Asked who was with Tinubu at the meeting with Adeboye, the source insisted ‘his wife’, stressing that Tinubu and his wife will be meeting with the leadership of CAN in the coming days.
