Kano: Gov Ganduje Appoints NAN Editor, Abdullahi Yusuf As SSA

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has finally made an appointment of a former Deputy Editor-In-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Malam Abdullahi Yusuf, as his Senior Special Assistant on Information in the State.

This appointment had been contained in a letter which had been signed by the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate (PEPA), Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji.

According to Maimota, the appointment took effect on July 25.

“The appointment was made upon a careful assessment of your credentials, competence and track record of performance, dedication to duty, vast experience, patriotic disposition and express loyalty.

“It is hoped that you will employ these qualities to bear towards ensuring effective discharge of your assigned duties,” he said.

Yusuf, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication, retired as NAN Zonal Manager, Jos, on Dec. 15, 2021, after attaining the mandatory 60 years of retirement age.

In another report, while appraising Tinubu’s wits and grandstanding in Nigerian politics, the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, is not an experimental president while given his level of dexterity and strong rooting in politics and administration in the Nigerian project.

The governor had made this assertion at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano House, Abuja, when he received an award presented to him by the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups Worldwide, the national directorate, comprising Nigeria, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates chapters, for his leading role in Tinubu’s victory at the party’s primary election.

He said, given his outstanding performance as Lagos State Governor where he formed a formidable team made up of people from different parts of the country that transformed the state to the strongest economy in the sub-region, Asiwaju’s presidency could best manage our diversity.

Ganduje pointed out that Asiwaju’s emergence at the primary election gave hope and encouragement that the party was set to win the 2023 election.

The governor also thanked the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for creating the enabling environment for the conduct of the primary; the APC and its governors as well as other aspirants who had expressed readiness to work with Asiwaju for the victory of the party.
