Popular female tennis player, Serena Williams on Tuesday hinted that she might retire from the game sooner than later, which will mark the end of an amazing career.
Just a few days after claiming her first victory in over 340 days since last year’s French Open at the National Bank Open on Monday, the American tennis great hinted at retirement by telling reporters: ‘I love playing, though… but, you know, I can’t do this forever. Sometimes you just want to try your best to enjoy the moments, and do the best that you can.’
She added that she and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, had been trying to have another child and recently received excellent news from her doctor. She also said that she hopes to spend time with her family and her five-year-old daughter, Olympia.

‘We recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we are ready, we can add to our family,’ She added.
Africa Today News, New York reports that the 40-year-old has won 23 Grand Slams and is one of the greatest tennis players of all time.
The American, who was born in Michigan, has won seven Wimbledon titles, seven Australian Opens, six US Opens, and three French Opens – with her last major triumph coming at Melbourne Park in 2017.
She hadn’t won since the French Open last year and her recent win marks a significant milestone for her.
In a related development, in another moment of glory, Nwachukwu Goodness yesterday claimed a gold medal for Nigeria in the women’s E42.44/61.64 discus throw at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
While doing so, Nwachukwu also set a world record with her throw of 36.56m.
Nigeria finished with 35 medals, including 12 gold, nine silver, and 14 bronze, the nation’s best outing at the Games in years.
