2023 Why Nigeria Remains Underdeveloped – IBB

One of the former Military Presidents of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has reiterated his earlier plea to the media to completely ignore all those who are preaching disunity and giving priority to those who have been making efforts to ensure peace and unity.

IBB had also made the disclosure while he had been speaking with the correspondents of the chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists in his uphill mansion which is located in Minna.

He had reiterated that all Nigerians must try their best to remain resolute to believe in the unity of Nigeria while charging them to be patient and prayed to overcome the current challenges bedeviling the country.

While expressing satisfaction over the role being played by the Nigerian media, he called for change of the narrative for better Nigeria by doing the right thing.

The elder statesman has also commended media practitioners in the country for doing wonderful well in their reportage and all their apt analysis of issues and support for sustainable democracy which must be improved upon by carrying along the masses.

The former military president had also enjoined Nigerians in general to be hopeful, determined, faithful and prayerful for the end of the current insecurity challenges facing the nation, adding that those behind it will realize the consequences and impact of their actions.

In another report, the Former head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), has advised the Federal Government to train and equip soldiers with modern weapons in order to tackle insecurity.

IBB, who expressed concern over the state of insecurity, said he has been engaging and advising the government without making it public.

He said it is imperative for the citizens to support government and the military in order to bring an end to the security crisis.
