Joshua Vs Usyk: Rematch Prize Money Revealed For Boxers

The cracker boxing match which has been scheduled between former  champion and  one of the world bests, Anthony Joshua and his counterpart, Oleksandr Usyk has been detailed as each of the boxers would be receiving a guaranteed sum of £33.2million ($40m) for taking part in their world heavyweight championship rematch.

This total sum has been revealed to be the second highest purse which would ever be paid to a British boxer, since Anthony Joshua had walked away with a cumulated sum of $60million for his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia.

It was during this bout that he had  regained the WBA, IBF and WBO titles following his first career defeat.

This weekend’s earnings has been teased to be able to also rise close to $50million for either Joshua or Usyk if pay-per-view television sales reach a level sufficient.

The Saudis paid a basic $80million to host the fight in the Jeddah Sports City’s 10,000 seat Arena on Saturday. The Saudi Kingdom is expected to raise the ante for a fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title involving the winner of Usyk v Joshua. Perhaps as high $100 million (£82m) if Tyson Fury is the opponent.

Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua has extolled his heavyweight colleague Oleksandr Usyk ahead of their forthcoming world championship battle at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

At Wembley, the Englishman Anthony Joshua was defeated by Usyk during their last match. The fight ended with Anthony Joshua losing his world title belts for the second time in his boxing career.

Anthony Joshua display an arrogant and aggressive temperament during the match build-up, however, he affirmed his respect and admiration for Usyk who stayed back to fight in his home country, Ukraine, when Russia began the brute invasion.

Usyk, the 35-year-old boxer was one amongst the Defence Battalion, he was also accountable for going out on patrol, he joined the frontline to defend his country from the Russian invasion.

The champion eventually vacated Ukraine after being advised by wounded sufferer of the invasion to leave and begin training for his heavyweight showdown in the middle east.

32-year Anthony Joshua, praised his rival’s devotion to defending his homeland, Ukraine, noting that he would have done the same to safeguard his home.
