Hushpuppi Pleads Guilty, Risks 20 Years’ Imprisonment

The United States Attorney’s Office for Central District of California, Los Angeles, has finally announced and made confirmation that the convicted internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas who is popularly known as Hushpuppi, will finally be sentenced on September 21, 2022.

This was disclosed by the court’s Director of Media Relations, Thom Mrozek, on Friday.

Hushpuppi’s sentence date had already been moved three times since his conviction which had come in 2021. Valentine’s February 14 date was first chosen for his sentencing before it was postponed to July 11, and now September 21.

The court official, Thom Mrozek, said Hushpuppi, who had pleaded guilty to the alleged $1.1m fraud last year, “…is currently scheduled to be sentenced by a federal judge in Los Angeles on September 21.”

In another report, Convicted international fraudster, Obinwanne Okeke, popularly known as Invictus, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence in a United States prison for $11m fraud, has stated that it is an insult to compare him with the self-professed fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi.

Invictus said while he took to fraud in order to empower the less fortunate in Nigeria, Hushpuppi defrauded people in order to show off on social media.

While Invictus has been convicted, Hushpuppi is facing criminal charges for conspiracy to launder money obtained from business email compromise frauds and other scams, including schemes that defrauded a US law firm of about $40m, illegally transferred $14.7m from a foreign financial institution and targeted to steal $124m from an English football club until his arrest by the Dubai Police in June 2020 and his extradition to the US
