Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, presidential candidates will be mandated to pay the sum of ₦10 million to erect billboards or paste posters anywhere in Kogi State.
This decision was arrived at following the passage of the Kogi State Signage Agency Establishment Bill into law by the House of Assembly.
The bill was put in place for the establishment of a signage agency to carry out regulatory activities over outdoor advertising.
Africa Today News, New York recalls that the Anambra State government had a few weeks ago through its Signage and Advertising Agency, had started the practice when it announced that presidential candidates and other political candidates will have to pay fees ranging from ₦10 million to ₦1 million before they could be allowed to paste or mount posters.
In another report, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has claimed that some politicians in the race for votes to win the 2023 presidential election do not mean well for the country but are out to milk the country.

The governor stressed that he is in a very privileged position to know better, and would tell Nigerians who they are at the appropriate time so that Nigerians can use their votes to reject them.
Governor Wike made this known while speaking at the flag-off of internal roads that was held on Monday at Rumuesara, Eneka town, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He said: ‘Some other people are busy, putting themselves together on how they will take over leadership in Nigeria to loot the remaining ones these other people have already kept.
‘I’m privileged to know and at the appropriate time, I’ll tell you who these people are. You need to know what is happening in Nigeria. Forget about all these people running around saying they want to rescue or save you (Nigeria). Just watch to see what is going to happen next.
‘All of us should be calm concerning what is happening in PDP. In fact, nothing has happened yet. But, by the grace of God, something will happen.’
Governor Wike pointed out that while his administration continues to flag off and inaugurate projects for the Rivers people, detractors keep sponsoring negative media campaigns against him.
The bill stipulated that candidates vying for the governorship position in the state have to pay N5 million while senatorial and House of Representatives candidates will pay ₦2 million and ₦1 million respectively.
In the meantime, individuals who are seeking House of Assembly and council chairmanship seats will be mandated to pay ₦500,000 as levies to advertise their posters.
