DSS Finds Shocking Items In Home Of Terrorists’ Negotiator

The Department of State Services (DSS) has narrated how they managed to recover incriminating materials in the residence of Tukur Mamu when they carried out a search there yesterday.

Africa Today News, New York reports that Mamu is a ‘big’ negotiator between the Nigerian government and terrorists who abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers on March 28.

Earlier on Thursday, DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya disclosed that security agencies executed the search warrant.

He listed items found as military accouterments, large amounts of different currencies and financial transaction instruments.

The spokesperson Afunanya told reporters that Mamu would soon be charged to court.

The DSS took custody of the citizen on Wednesday after he was intercepted in Egypt.

Mamu was held by Nigeria’s foreign partners in Cairo on Tuesday while on his way to Saudi Arabia.

The negotiator is the publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald newspaper.

The service pointed out that the self-acclaimed Kaduna Train hostage negotiator was apprehended on Wednesday following a request by the Nigeria Military, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence Community to their foreign partners to bring back Manu to the country to answer critical questions on ongoing investigations relating to some critical security matters in parts of the country.

This was made known in a statement issued by DSS public relations officer Peter Afunaya which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York on Thursday.

The statement reads: ‘The Department of State Services (DSS) has been inundated with enquires in respect of the arrest or otherwise of Tukur Manu, the self-acclaimed Kaduna Train hostage negotiator. This is to confirm that Manu, as a person of interest, was intercepted by Nigeria’s foreign partners at Cairo, Egypt on 6th September, 2022 while on his way to Saudi Arabia.

‘He has since been returned to the country, today, 7th September, 2022 and taken into the Service’s custody. The act followed a request by Nigeria’s Military, Law Enforcement and Intelligence Community to their foreign partners to bring back Manu to the country to answer critical questions on ongoing investigations relating to some security matters in parts of the country.

‘The public may wish to note that the law will appropriately take its course.’

Many social commentators have also called for the arrest of Kaduna-based Islamic Scholar, Shiek Gumi.
