Recall that an online newspaper had on Sunday reported that Atiku was critically ill and was evacuated to London from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for medical attention, citing an unnamed source in the PDP Presidential Campaign Team.

But, Melaye refuted the ill-health report by the online news platform (not LEADERSHIP), describing it as handiwork of ‘unrepentant liars’.

The PDP Campaign spokesperson added that Atiku was in London on the invitation of the British Government as previously extended to other candidates in Nigeria’s February 25 elections.

Meanwhile, Atiku had earlier asserted that the upcoming general elections will decide Nigeria’s future.

In a campaign message to his supporters via email on Sunday night, Atiku stated that the election provided an opportunity for Nigerians to right all the wrongs that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has brought upon the country.

He said, ‘The 2023 general election is few weeks away. It is important that we remind ourselves that this election is about the future of Nigeria.

‘It is an opportunity for us as Nigerians to right all the wrongs that the ruling APC has brought upon us.’

He added that as Nigerians exercise their mandate in the upcoming elections, it is necessary that they reflect properly about the scorecards of both the PDP and the APC.
