Resilient Bayern Dump PSG Out Of UEFA Champions League

German side, Bayern Munich on Wednesday ensured that star-studded French giants, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) crashed out of the Champions League, winning 3-0 on the aggregate.

Africa Today News, New York recalls that Bayern had won the first leg in Paris by a lone goal and defeated the French side 2-0 in the return leg yesterday.

After a goalless first half, Bayern drew the first blood on 61st minute through Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

A terrible mistake leads to the goal. The defender ended up losing possession, allowing Choupo-Moting to pick up the ball before slotting it into the back of the net to make it.

Four minutes later, Sergio Ramos had a great chance. He times his jump superbly when he leap high to meet a precise cross from the corner, directing his towering header inside the right post, but the goalkeeper denied him with a miraculous save.

One minute to duration time, the German side added a second goal.

Serge Gnabry received a well-taken defence-splitting low pass inside the box and scored. His great effort made its way into the right side of the goal.

In another report, English football club side, Chelsea sealed a place in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday night by overcoming a first-leg deficit to defeat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 (2-1 on aggregate) at Stamford Bridge.

Former Machester City star, Raheem Sterling opened the scoring just before halftime and Kai Havertz made the most of a second chance at an early second-half penalty.

Recall that Dortmund had led 1-0 after one leg through Karim Adeyemi, but Chelsea boss Graham Potter insisted that his team was very good in the game, just wasteful.

Chelsea joins Benfica in the hat for the last eight, while Dortmund refocuses itself on their pursuit of the Bundesliga crown.
