A bar on Friday night in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, located near the United States border, was targeted by a devastating firebomb attack, leading to at least 11 fatalities recorded.
Mexican law enforcement has made an arrest in connection with the bar fire attack, with the detained individual believed to have set the bar ablaze after being forcibly removed.
The culprit behind the Beer House bar attack has been identified as a drunk young man who had been bothering women, and in response to being kicked out, he hurled a Molotov cocktail, according to authorities.
Via a Twitter post on Saturday afternoon, the mayor of San Luis Rio Colorado disclosed that a suspect had been arrested, but deliberately withheld the suspect’s identity from the public.
According to a statement released by the Sonora state Attorney General’s Office, the fire incident resulted in the loss of seven men and four women, while four other individuals were hospitalised.

BBC reported that several of the injured victims were promptly transported across the border to hospitals in the United States for medical treatment.
‘According to versions (from) several witnesses, the person with a young, male appearance was disrespecting women in that bar and was expelled,’ the statement read.
It described the object propelled as ‘a kind of ‘Molotov’ cocktail’.
Investigations have continued to ‘clarify the facts’ and ‘bring justice’ it said, adding that ‘in Sonora, no one is above the law.’
The possible connection of the incident to organized crime, which has been a longstanding issue in Mexico, remains uncertain and has not been established at this time.
