A socio-political commentator and former Senator and Kaduna State, Shehu Sani has advised the Senate against confirming the former governor of his state, Nasir El-Rufai to be minister.
Senator Sani had earlier warned that El-Rufai should not be cleared if Nigeria wants peace to reign.
Sani criticized the former governor for acting like a deity during his time in office, and now he finds himself at the mercy of the Senate.
Tweeting, he identified the former governor as a religious extremist and a fanatic.
According to Sani: ‘The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; The Imp who was intoxicated with power, and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power.’

‘A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.’
The Senate had refused to confirm El-Rufai alongside two others due to security issues.
Meanwhile, Senate spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu on Wednesday revealed that they might re-invite the three ministerial nominees who have not been confirmed yet for re-screening.
Adaramodu disclosed this while speaking on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily which was monitored by Africa Today News, New York.
When asked whether the Senate would still confirm them, Adaramodu responded: “The question raised about them is an ongoing issue.
‘So, once the Senate is satisfied, definitely, if we need to invite them to the chamber for the re-confirmation and re-screening, then we’ll do that.
‘If security is not satisfied, the Senate cannot be satisfied. It depends on what security agencies and the person that nominates them say.’
On Monday, the Senate approved and confirmed 45 ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu after a voice vote.
