Mujahid Dokubo-Asari

Controversial Ex-Niger Delta militant, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has called on Nigerians to be patient with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led-federal government, as the president and his team are striving to steer the national economy towards progress.

He made this known while also sending his congratulatory messages to the newly appointed ministers, particularly former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi, now minister of works.

In a statement which was sent to Africa Today News, New York on Sunday, Dokubo-Asari said, ‘I am pleased with the ministers and their portfolios. Individuals who have previously held political offices should prioritise national interests and assist President Bola Tinubu in his determined effort to reposition Nigeria.

‘I urge Nigerians to be patient with the current federal government as the president and his team are striving to guide the national economy towards progress and development.’

In a related development, a Niger Delta liberation group, Supreme Egbesu Freedom Fighters of Niger Delta (SEFFND) has frowned at the continuous verbal attacks on the personality and constant call for the arrest of its leader, Dokubo Asari, by Igbo Lawyers Association ILA, HURIWA and Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, saying such actions will throw the Niger Delta region into a state of crisis.

This was contained in a statement signed and issued in Yenagoa by the General Commanding Officer of the group, Agadagba River Don, saying that Asari Dokubo only speaks the truth and warned groups attacking his personality to desist from the act, adding that else they will be left with no other option than to retaliate in like manner.

According to him, the groups attacking Dokubo have watched the unknown gunmen maim, kill and destroy lives and properties of fellow Igbos on daily basis without finding any solution to the bloodbath, a situation which has stopped the movement of persons and goods, due to the unlawful sit-at-home order in the entire South East region of the country.

The Niger Delta liberation group also debunked news making the rounds that Dokubo Asari was the brain behind the delay and non-renewal of the multi-million dollars pipeline surveillance contract job the Mohammadu Buhari led administration awarded to Chief Government Ekpemupolo (AKA Tompolo).
