Nigeria Now 2nd Most Prayerful Country On Earth - Report

Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria has been ranked the second most prayerful country on earth trailing only Afghanistan who was ranked first with 96 percent prayer rate in a new report. 

According to the Pew Research Centre, Nigeria took the second position with 95 percent prayer rate.

Africa Today News, New York reports that the Pew Research Centre is a non-partisan American think-tank based in Washington, D.C.

Recall that in 2019, Pew Research Centre’s surveys conducted between 2008 and 2017 revealed Nigeria as the most prayerful country.

Meanwhile, the likes of China (1%), UK (6%), Switzerland (8%), Austria (8%), Czechoslovakia (9%), Germany (9%), Estonia (9%) France (10%) and Denmark (10%) are the least prayerful.

Below is the full list for the recent survey of most prayerful countries:

1. Afghanistan: 96%

2. Nigeria: 95%

3. Algeria: 88%

4. Senegal: 88%

5. Djibouti: 87%

6. Iran: 87%

7. Iraq: 87%

8. Niger: 87%

9. Indonesia: 84%

In another report, a fresh Pandemic Recovery Survey which was carried out by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, the University of Maryland, and Meta has revealed that about 73.9 per cent of Nigerians were very satisfied or satisfied with life, while 91.4 per cent of them reported having good, very good, or excellent health.

Africa Today News, New York reports that the survey conducted in no fewer than 20 other countries was based on geographic spread and the Facebook Active User Base.

Other countries where the survey was carried out are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.

Through the usage of a Qualtrics platform, data were gathered from Facebook users using a stratified random sample approach. Inquiries were addressed to Facebook users in 21 different countries and translated into 15 different languages.

Researchers can compensate for sampling bias by using survey weights that were determined by Meta and the University of Maryland to make sure the survey was representative of the characteristics of the population.
