British Woman Condemned To Death For Murder Of Husband

Ramandeep Kaur Mann, a woman from Britain, has been found culpable and has received a death sentence by hanging in India for the alleged killing of her spouse.

Africa Today News, News York, learned that Kaur Mann has been sentenced by an Indian court for the murder of Sukhjeet Singh.

The court learned that Ms. Kaur Mann supposedly poisoned her family members before cutting her husband’s throat on September 2, 2016, in an attempt to claim £2 million from his life insurance.

The court handed down a life imprisonment verdict for Gurpreet Singh, her accomplice.

According to reports, the testimony of the victim’s nine-year-old son played a crucial role in securing the conviction of the British national.

The report highlighted that she returned from a month-long family holiday in Sukhjeet’s hometown of Shahjahanpur, and it was during this time that she carefully planned the murder of her spouse, whom she had been with for 11 years.

The heinous act was carried out by poisoning a meal intended for multiple family members, but her eldest son was spared as he did not eat it.

In the early morning of September 2, 2016, Sukhjeet’s body was found on the first floor of the house, in a pool of blood, where he had been sleeping alongside his family.

Sukhjeet’s mother Vansh Kaur was sleeping on the ground floor of the house, the report said.

Kaur Mann and Gurpreet were charged with murder, and the police investigation revealed that both culprits were in a relationship.

Their guilt was established by the court for both murder and the crime of criminal acts performed by multiple individuals with a shared intention.

A judge described the case on Saturday as the ‘rarest of rare’ and said, ‘Not only Sukhjeet was murdered but the remaining years of an elderly widow was killed, the childhood as well as the youth of two minor children was exterminated. The children have lost the happiness which they had when their father was alive.’

Reacting to the verdict, Sukhjeet’s mother told reporters outside the court that she was pleased her son’s killer had been given capital punishment.

She said: ‘I feel relieved. My prayers were answered and I got what I was expecting from the court. I was demanding capital punishment for Ramandeep so that no mother’s child dies like this.’
