Presidency Cabal Plotting To Overthrow Democracy — PDP

Umar Damagum who is the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has alleged that a cabal in the Presidency was planning to overthrow the democratic rights of Nigerians.

Damagum, who spoke at a media briefing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, said the cabal was determined to overturn the will of Nigerians to favour the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He claimed that there is an ongoing design by APC to ‘cripple democracy, overthrow the democratic rights of Nigerians, suppress the rule of law and downgrade our nation to a fiefdom run by the whims of a cabal.’

Damagum said it has become pertinent to alert Nigerians that the country is ‘fast sliding into totalitarianism following the activities of a cabal in the Presidency, which is out to emasculate institutions of democracy, especially the judiciary, in the desperation to subvert and overturn the expressed will of Nigerians in the various election matters across the country.’

Africa Today News, New York recalls that this is coming after the PDP spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, accused the cabal in the Presidency of trying to slide Nigeria into anarchy and totalitarianism.

Ologunagba claimed that the cabal in the Presidency was trying to use the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary to throw Nigeria into anarchy.

The opposition party claimed declared that said Nigeria is sliding into totalitarianism and anarchy under the All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government.

Debo Ologunagba who is the spokesman of the PDP, alleged that a cabal in the Presidency was trying to control the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the judiciary and throw Nigeria into anarchy.

Ologunagba raised the alarm over conflicting court judgments and alleged manipulation of election results.
