A weather forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMET, projects the presence of slight dust haze in the northern region of the country on Sunday.

NiMet’s weather outlook, disclosed on Sunday in Abuja, projects the prevalence of slight dust haze across the northern regions of the country, with expected improvements in horizontal visibility.

The report read, ‘Dust Haze is still the prevailing weather across the country although we expect gradual improvements in horizontal visibilities as slight dust haze is expected over the northern region of the country throughout Sunday.’

The current weather conditions nationwide indicate the persistence of dust haze affecting visibility, with gradual improvements expected in certain regions. The agency anticipates the northern region will experience slight dust haze throughout Sunday, potentially impacting horizontal visibilities.

Moderate dust haze is expected in areas covering the North Central down to the southern parts of the country, with horizontal visibilities ranging from 2000 to 5000 meters.

‘The North Central down to the southern parts of the country are expected to experience moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2000 to 5000 meters,’ the report read.

Considering these weather conditions, NIMET has advised individuals to take precautions to minimize the impact of the dust haze on outdoor activities and travel.

This involves employing protective gear such as face masks and goggles to lessen exposure to airborne particles and maintain respiratory health.

Additionally, individuals with respiratory conditions are advised to restrict outdoor exposure during this period and seek suitable medical advice if encountering any adverse health effects linked to the dust haze.
