Aiyedatiwa Asserts Certainty Of Victory In Ondo Poll

The governor stated this at a meeting with the officials and the members of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers in Akure on Saturday and it was contained in a statement issued by the LACO-FS State Director of Information, Mr. Kayode Fasua, on Sunday.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State remains resolute in his belief that he will secure the gubernatorial nomination of the All Progressives Congress in April and emerge triumphant in the November elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has slated the governorship primaries for April and the governorship election for November 2024 in the state, prompting vigorous preparations from all political parties involved.

Among the APC hopefuls, Aiyedatiwa disclosed that his late predecessor, former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, had prophesied his eventual governorship of the Sunshine State, depicting him as a perceptive leader who envisioned his forthcoming leadership.

During a gathering in Akure on Saturday, the governor shared this insight with officials and members of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers, as relayed in a statement by Mr. Kayode Fasua, the State Director of Information for LACO-FS, on Sunday.

In the statement, Aiyedatiwa said, “My supporters should continue working and never doubt as my coming victory in the primary and general elections is the promise of God.”

He added, “This (my emergence as governor) is what my late boss, Governor Akeredolu wanted. A lot of people don’t really know Akeredolu, they don’t know that he was a prophet.

“There was a time after he (Akeredolu) returned from a medical vacation that he told the cabinet members during an executive council meeting that ‘Look, Aiyedatiwa will emerge as the next governor,”

The governor noted that his ambition to contest for governorship position was beyond the mandate of his joint ticket with the late Akeredolu but a sincere mission to transform Ondo State and uplift the standard of living of the people.

As outlined in the statement, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, the LACO-FS Convener, revealed during his address that more than 250,000 campaigners, identified as ‘Foot Soldiers,’ have been strategically deployed across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State to ensure Aiyedatiwa’s success in both the primary and general elections.

In alignment with this, Mr. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, the Director-General of the organization, emphasized their commitment to undertaking a tour of each local government area, commencing this week and continuing until mid-March, with Governor Aiyedatiwa taking charge of the campaign initiatives.

Central to the event was the official presentation of the title ‘Field Marshall’ to the governor by the LACO-FS, marked by the debut of stylish fez caps, aprons, t-shirts, and assorted campaign gear and materials.
