Sanwo-Olu Promises To Enhance Infrastructure In Epe

Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s steadfast dedication to leveraging Epe’s tourism and economic prospects by enhancing its infrastructure, as part of its broader commitment to infrastructural development across the State.

During an on-site inspection of crucial projects essential to implementing the administration’s THEMES+ Agenda in Epe, Engineer Olufemi Daramola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, made this disclosure.

Daramola highlighted that as a testament to Mr. Governor’s commitment to spreading infrastructure development across all corners of the State, thus fostering economic growth and enhancing residents’ living standards, there’s a focused initiative on rehabilitating, reconstructing, and delivering crucial infrastructure in Epe.

According to him, a pivotal characteristic of this administration is its inclusive policy, ensuring that no area of the State is neglected. That’s why we’re here firsthand to assess the road infrastructure and relocation projects to enhance local socio-economic activities and augment Epe’s growth potential.

Daramola reiterated that as a government entity, our goal is to impact every corner of the State, and we are unwavering in our commitment to extending development to the inner parts of the metropolis. Notable projects visited include the Marina – Obafemi Awolowo Road – Epe LGA Junction (Ita Marun), featuring a dual carriageway, and initiatives such as relocating the Marine Police Post at Epe Marina Road, as well as advancing the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway Phase 2b, among others.

He emphasized that the development of this roadway will enhance the interconnectedness of Epe’s road network. He highlighted that the Marina – Obafemi Awolowo Road serves as a pivotal infrastructure project for this government, as it fulfills our ambition to tap into Epe’s tourism opportunities and foster the expansion of neighboring communities within the area.

During a tour of the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway Phase 2b road project, the Special Adviser acknowledged the transformation in commuting between Victoria Island and Epe due to the ongoing progress of the construction. Moreover, inhabitants along the Lekki – Epe corridor are beginning to feel a sense of relief as the reconstruction of the top-tier Expressway approaches its conclusion. Additionally, there has been a remarkable surge in economic activities within the region, leading to a decrease in road congestion, particularly with the implementation of a designated lane for large trucks.

With a pledge to complete this endeavor by year’s end, the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway aims to alleviate traffic congestion, alleviate the commuting burden on drivers and passengers, promote public well-being, and bolster socio-economic vibrancy within the Epe Division.
