Tonto Dike Berates Obi Over Borehole Project In North

Controversial Nollywood actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh has lashed out at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi over the quality of boreholes donated to some communities in Northern Nigeria during the period of the just concluded Ramadan. 

Africa Today News, New York reports that over the last week few weeks, the former Governor of Anambra State has been donating and inaugurating boreholes for different communities in the North.

Reacting on Instagram, Tonto Dike said she was disappointed and unsatisfied with boreholes donated to northern communities.

She urged the Anambra politician to join hands with President Bola Tinubu to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.

She wrote: “His Excellency, sir, with all due respect, @peterobigregory, I am deeply disappointed by this. The idea that Nigeria was almost entrusted to you, sir, is disheartening. This isn’t trolling; I’m genuinely dissatisfied with your actions.

“I’m in disbelief. Were you truly committed to taking this country to the next level? This situation highlights the need for all of us to join hands with Mr President, @officialasiwajubat, and actively contribute to the nation’s progress. It’s not a task for one person alone; it requires the dedication of all.

“YOUR EXCELLENCY, Mr. Obi, I am profoundly let down. Despite that, you remain one of my favourite politicians. However, I believe in speaking the truth directly because I love you, but I love Nigeria even more.”

Recall that Obi had earlier stressed the importance of confronting the severe problem of poverty and insecurity in Nigeria’s northern territory, advocating for a comprehensive approach centered on agricultural and industrial rejuvenation.

Peter Obi, on his comprehensive tour of the Northern states, shared these insights during a courtesy call to Ambassador Nuhu Bamali, the revered Emir of Zazzau, in Kaduna as part of his itinerary.
