Fresh Evacuation Ordered In Gaza Ahead Of Israeli Strike

The Israeli army has issued a fresh evacuation order for a residential high-rise in Gaza City, warning of an imminent strike on the building. The order, delivered Sunday, comes just a day after a similar warning was given for the same tower.

Army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a statement that the Al-Roya Tower would soon be targeted due to the alleged presence of Hamas “terrorist infrastructure inside or nearby.” He urged residents to evacuate immediately.

“For your safety, you must evacuate the building immediately and move south toward the humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi,” Adraee said, referring to a designated safe area in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

The warning follows a week of intensified Israeli operations. Two residential towers were flattened earlier in the week after the military accused Hamas of using them as monitoring and operational posts — an allegation Hamas denies.

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told cabinet ministers that ground manoeuvres were being expanded in Gaza City. “We are deepening the manoeuvre on the outskirts of Gaza City and within Gaza City itself,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting.

Although Israel has not formally announced the launch of a full-scale offensive to capture Gaza City, such an operation was approved by Netanyahu’s cabinet last month. In recent weeks, airstrikes and troop deployments have escalated as the Israeli army seeks to pressure Hamas.

The renewed evacuation order underscores the humanitarian crisis facing civilians caught in the conflict. Residents have repeatedly been forced to abandon their homes under threat of bombardment, often with little time to seek safety.

Gaza City has been at the centre of Israeli military activity since the outbreak of hostilities last year, with repeated strikes on residential areas. Israel insists its operations are targeting Hamas militants and infrastructure, while critics argue that civilian populations are bearing the brunt of the campaign.

With fresh evacuations underway and strikes intensifying, Gaza faces further displacement and destruction amid one of the most prolonged escalations in the conflict.
