“Kindly accept the assurances of my highest esteem at all times,” the letter reads.

The development came after President Bola Tinubu mediated between the Rivers Governor and his political godfather, Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister.

Africa Today News, New York recalls that Tinubu in the 8-point resolution reached after his intervention directed that Martins Chike Amaewhule be recognised as the speaker of the house while the actions taken by Edison such as budget presentation be repeated.

In another report, the Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum has declared that it does not see any peace in the ‘President’s Peace Proclamation’ as regards the political crisis.

The statement by the forum follows a Christmas Day’s broadcast by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, where he pledged to fully implement the presidential peace agreement reached to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the state.
