Amidst the security challenges facing Nigeria, Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and founding member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has called on the Federal Government to prioritize the protection of lives and properties.
Kwankwaso spoke after the NNPP national convention in Abuja yesterday, expressing concern over the rising spate of kidnappings, banditry, and other security challenges facing the country.
Pleased to be joined by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam, alongside other senior party faithful at the NNPP National Executive Committee meeting, in Abuja.
“So many people have been chased out of their homes. Some are in the bushes now; in the forest, under the care of bandits and other criminals, and it looks like many people don’t care,” the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 election said.

“It is even becoming a normal thing to go and pick people in their homes or the roads; in the market and so on. I believe it is only in this country that this sort of nonsense is happening.”
During the convention, the party also elected new executives for the NNPP, calling on the government to make education the right of the people.
Recall that Kwankwaso had a fortnight ago revealed that the NNPP, was very much ready to go into a merger as no party can singlehandedly clinch power in the country.
Also, Kwankwaso declared that the issue of Kano emirates which was altered by the Previous government in Kano will be revisited.
Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, made these assertion while speaking in an interview with some radio stations on Friday.
