After several months of silence about the news making the rounds on Nigerian streets and social media about him being dead, and long buried, Buhari speaks to debunk the allegations.
Early last year Buhari was battling an undisclosed ailment and was flown to the UK for treatment where he spent nearly six months away from his official duties which the constitution of the Federal Government of Nigeria doesn’t not permit for an incumbent president to be indisposed for that period of time.
Since then there have been wide speculations that he is being impersonated by an impostor from Sudan named Jubril El-Sudani.
“It’s real me, I assure you. I’ll soon celebrate my 76th birthday and I’ll still go strong,” Buhari responded when he was asked about Jubril during a town hall session with Nigerians which he attended in Poland.
“A lot of people hoped that I died during my ill health.” He further said.
The presidency has now made available Buhari’s response via email entitled, “It’s Real Me, President Responds To Cloning Allegations.”
