The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that more work needed to be done to secure Nigeria and Nigerians.
He was said to have offered the candid view in an interview with Television Continental (TVC), moments after 344 abducted students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara were freed, six days after they were taken away by gunmen.

Buhari while speaking said: ‘I know we still have a lot of work ahead of us, and I am hopeful next year will be better,’ President Buhari said.
Speaking further, he said he is fully aware of the situation and promised to do all it takes to secure Nigeria and Nigerians.
‘It is our responsibility to ensure Nigeria is safe for all to move about and do their businesses without fear. We are fully aware of this responsibility and we won’t give any excuse for failure to do so.’
‘The military is well trained; I think they need more motivation.’
‘You are aware we closed our land borders, but we still found out these terrorists still have access to arms and ammunition, abduct people and make them pay millions of naira as ransom.’
President Buhari has received condemnation from Nigerians for not being able to put a stop to numerous security challenges facing Nigeria despite the fact that he and his party All Progressive Alliance (APC) made large promises during the 2015 election to put an end to Boko Haram operation in Nigeria. Despite the huge spending on security, Nigeria is still battling insecurity especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Few weeks ago, 46 rice farmers were killed in their farm by Boko Haram as they were harvesting their rice and numerous others have been met with death due to operations of Boko Haram. Government has always made claims that Boko Haram has been defeated but their operation remains visible and unchecked in Northern Nigeria.
