Former Military President and the self-styled political Maradona, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has called on the media to always try to pay no attention to people that specialise in preaching disunity and rather give priority to those making efforts to ensure peace and unity.
IBB disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking with the reporters from the chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists in his uphill mansion in Minna.
He noted that Nigerians must be encouraged to remain resolute in their firm believe in the unity of Nigeria while also urging them to be patient and prayed to overcome the current challenges bedeviling the country.

While expressing satisfaction over the role being played by the Nigerian media, he called for change of the narrative for better Nigeria by doing the right thing.
The elder statesman also commended media practitioners in the country for doing wonderful well in their reportage, analysis of issues and support for sustainable democracy which must be improved upon by carrying along the masses.
The former military president enjoined Nigerians to be hopeful, determined, faithful and prayerful for the end of the current insecurity challenges facing the nation, adding that those behind it will realise the consequences and impact of their actions.
Meanwhile, ahead of next year’s general election, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sadness that the leadership of the All Progressive Congress was still advocating for reckless borrowing amidst an economic tailspin which Nigeria was currently grappling with.
It pointed out that despite several words of caution by the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who has consistently earned against the unwise decision by the current administration to engage of such borrowing.
