Men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have reportedly arrested about three lawyers who are reportedly filing processes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the election petition tribunal in Port Harcourt.
The lawyers who were said to be preparing petitions against the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the just concluded governorship election in Rivers State.
They were reportedly picked up on Friday night at a hotel they were lodging in Port Harcourt. The reason for their arrest is still unknown.
The lawyers are attached to the Tuduru Ede’s Chamber, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, confirmed the incident to reporters on Sunday morning.
‘Yes, it is true. They were arrested last night. We are going to brief the press,’ Nwauju stated.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the state Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko proved abortive as her mobile phone was not reachable as at the time of filing this report.
In another report, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has distanced himself from a purported audio recording of a telephone conversation between him and the Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, describing the tape as a product of the endless forgeries the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become notorious for.
He made this known in response to a trending audio recording of an alleged conversation between him and the influential Christian cleric in which he was purported to have asked the cleric to mobilize support for him ahead of the disputed election.
Obi who spoke through the Head, of Obi Datti Media Office, Diran Onifade, in a statement sent to Africa Today News, New York, said, APC’s desperate bid to grab and retain power using subterfuge must stop.
