Terrorists Kidnap Mother Of Kano APC Senatorial Candidate

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Monday night kidnapped the mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kano Central senatorial candidate, A.A Zaura.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that the aged mother of the politician, Hajia Laure Mai-Kunu, was abducted in just before the Muslims’ call to prayer in the evening.

Chairman of Ungogo Local Government, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, who confirmed the incident, said security agents have informed him officially of the incident.

He said Hajia Laure was kidnapped at her residence in the local government’s Rangaza ward of Zaura village.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command, SP Haruna Abdullahi confirmed the incident.

He said the incident happened around 2 am on Monday (today) adding that the Command had since mobilised its personnel with a view to rescuing the victim and arresting the suspects.

Meanwhile, the aftermath of the gruesome murder of some churchgoers on Sunday in Ondo State wanes on, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have again blasted the silence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday’s gruesome terrorist attack and killing of innocent worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, while reiterating its stand on the ruling party’s complicity in the terrorist attack across the country.

PDP also berated President Muhammadu Buhari for what it described as a lame and disconnected press statement.

The opposition party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Monday, said the statement by the presidency did not demonstrate any Presidential empathy, concern, assurances, and commitment expected of a Commander in Chief.

PDP also described the statement as feeble and insensitive, adding that “the statement by the Presidency is a further confirmation of the tacit sympathy for terrorism by the APC administration”.
