Governor Rotimi Akeredolu

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who is the Ondo State Governor as one of the directives of his government to further streamline the payment of pensions and gratuities has constituted the Board of the State’s Pension Commission.

His Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde had made this  statement available to some of the newsmen on Monday in Akure.

The statement said the appointment was to further deepen the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of pensioners and consolidate the gains already recorded in line with the Ondo State Pension Reform Law, 2014 as amended.

Dr. Anthonia Smart was appointed by the governor as the Part-Time Chairman of the Board. The new Chairman is expected to work closely with the Director-General of the Commission, Mr. Jaiyeola Olowosuko, and other members.

Congratulating the Chairman, Akeredolu urged her to give her best to the service of the state.

As part of efforts to boost security in Ondo State, the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has also ordered all public and private institutions in the state to install Close Circuit Television (CCTV) devices.

This order was made known in a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Richard Olatunde, which was made available to Africa Today News, New York on Sunday morning. He said Akeredolu has signed an Executive Order to that effect to ensure it’s enforcement.

‘This becomes imperative in the light of the increased spate of insecurity in the country and the need to ensure security of lives and properties in all public and private institutions and centres throughout the state,’ the statement said.

‘The executive order shall be enforced at all religious places of worship, financial institutions (of all kinds), event centres, supermarkets, educational institutions (Schools), Hotels/Motels, Guest House, inns, Restaurants, Clinics and Health Centres, eateries (of all kinds), recreation or vehicular parks and other places regularly used by the public.’
